A non-profit organization for British and Commonwealth women in The Woodlands, Texas

The Woodlands British Ladies Club (WBLC) was originally formed in 1993 by Tricia Stapleton, when she identified that there was a need to provide support and friendship to local British and Commonwealth women and their families.

Our members range across all ages and stages of life: women who have moved here for their partner's job, mums with babies and young children, parents of teenagers, working women and women who have retired. Even though we say goodbye to some members every year when they move on to new horizons or go back to their home country, we continue to grow as more women join. Our membership currently stands at just over 180 active members.

There are many different group activities arranged by the volunteer group leaders of our club and you are welcome to take part in as many or as few group activities as you would like to. A brief description of each of the groups is given on the Activities page of this site. We produce a monthly newsletter and calendar of group activities and events, which is e-mailed to all members and published on our Facebook Page so there's no reason to miss anything!

If there is a new activity that you would like to see the WBLC offer just ask the Committee about how you can start organising it.

Partners can also get involved in events such as pub nights, quiz nights and family-orientated parties, which are a great way for our families to meet other people too.

As well as helping to support each other, we also provide financial support and item donations to several local charities in The Woodlands and surrounding areas.
